又屆每年三月,又是由BC Produce Marketing Association 及 BC Chefs’ Association 合辦的第十八屆 Healthy Chef Competition了。
晚會在Hyatt Regency Vancouver舉行,今屆參賽者共有十組,有學生成員如 Vancouver Island University、VCC,也有酒店或高球會大廚等同場較勁,如Hyatt Regency Vancouver、Pretty Estates Resort、Beach Grove Golf Club、White Spot、The Wild Fig、Pint 405 Pub、ego restaurant、American Grille等。有趣點子是入場眾人都是評判,除了大會的六名評判外,與會者的晚餐正是享用各組別炮製的主菜及甜品,然後給予評分,選出 People’s Choice Award。
評分標準是除了要求菜式的色香味之外,亦要注重健康食材的配搭,如何盡量利用健康食材,及如何以烹調方法盡量保持食材營養等,銳意將飲食健康之道傳揚給民眾。
當晚每組參賽者要準備主菜、甜品及兒童餐共三款菜式。以下是我相機先吃的部份美食。

一輪試食分享之後,得獎名單亦於晚會完結前揭曉,得到Best Dessert Award的是American Grille、Best Healthy Half Your Plate Entree Award是VCC、Best Children’s Entree Award是ebo restaurant、Best Table Showcase Award 是American Grille,而得到全場人士投票的People’s Choice Award是White Spot。
