Healthy Chef Competition 健康廚神大比拼

注重飲食健康有營已是潮流大勢所趨，3月20日，BC Greenhouse Growers’
Association 推出 BC Veggie Day 活動; 3月12日，BC Produce Marketing Association 及 BC Chefs’ Association 亦合辦了一個別開生面的第十五屆 Healthy Chef Competition。

今屆參賽者共有八組，有學生成員如 The International Culinary Schools、VCC、Burnaby Central Secondary School，也有酒店或高球會大廚等同場較勁。有趣點子是入場眾人都是評判，除了由卑詩廚師協會派出五名大廚組成評判團外，與會者的晚餐正是享用各組別炮製的主菜及甜品，然後給予評分，選出 People’s Choice Award。

當晚先由 Hyatt Hotel 供應頭盤 Salmon Carpaccio 配薯泥及脆蔥絲來掀開序幕。之後，參賽隊伍出品如下﹕

甜品 : Poached Apple “Mille-Feuille”, Chocolate-avocado Pudding and Hazelnut Cake, Elderflower Sorbet

一輪試食分享之後，得獎名單亦於晚會完結前揭曉，得到 Best Dessert Award 的是 Hyatt Regency Hotel Vancouver、Best Entree Award 是 Delta Hotels、Healthy Plate Award 及 $1,000現金獎是 VCC、Best Table Showcase Award 是 Beach Grove，而得到全場人士投票的 People’s Choice Award 是 Burnaby Secondary School，誠是後生可畏，前途無量。
